BRIDGEPORT, CT – At approximately 1:00pm on August 13, 2008, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to a John 4 Assignment at Park Street and Jane Street. ERS was receiving multiple calls for a structure fire at that location. Engine-1 was dispatched as RIT but was the first company to arrive on scene. They had just cleared from a previous box assignment and had a jump on the other dispatched companies. They reported heavy fire showing from the second floor of a vacant 2 ½ story frame. After an aggressive interior attack, recall was put in approximately thirty five minutes later using 5 engines, 2 trucks, Rescue-5, Battalion-2, Deputy-2, and Training-3.
