BUFFALO, NY - At approximately 12:10am on October 12, 2009 the Buffalo Fire Department was dispatched to 1418 Bailey Avenue for a house on fire. First due companies reported heavy smoke and fire in the area. Once on scene, members found a vacant 2 ½ frame next to the Bailey Avenue Bridge with heavy fire in the rear on all 3 floors. A defensive attack was immediately commenced and companies worked through the night to put the blaze under control. The vacant house had an exposure on the D-side that was completely protected.
