Shelton Ave. Fire (Shelton, CT) 12/31/03
SHELTON, CT - The Shelton Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 12:45 p.m. for a fire in a 2 1/2 story wood-frame structure at 51 Shelton Ave. First due units found a heavy fire condition on the first floor with extension to the second floor. The entire building was charged with smoke and the members made an aggressive interior attack. All residents of this occupied balloon frame structure were accounted for and before long the fire was placed under control. Shelton Company’s 1, 3, 5, and 4 responded to the fire, and mutual aid was received from the Derby and Monroe fire departments for standby coverage in the firehouses.
