Main St. Fire (East Haven, CT) 3/30/07

EAST HAVEN, CT – At approximately 9:00am on March 30, a fire broke out on the second floor of the Trolley Park Apartment Complex at 500 Main Street. The fire was contained to the second floor apartment in the 3-story building, but smoke quickly filled the whole wing of the structure. A woman was found unresponsive during the primary search of the fire apartment and was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital. She was later transferred to the burn unit at Bridgeport Hospital. Mutual aid came in from area towns to help with the removal of residents. The Trolley Park Apartment Complex is well known for its malicious false alarms, so there was an initial delay in evacuation.
