New St. Fire (Seymour, CT) 2/5/07
SEYMOUR, CT – At approximately 10:45am on February 5, the Seymour Fire Department arrived on scene of an occupied 2 ½ story wood frame structure with heavy fire showing in the rear. The fire quickly ran up the walls of the multi-family house at 94 New Street and proved to be quite difficult once it took hold of the attic. Firefighters battled with the blaze in sub-freezing temps for approximately two hours before putting it under control at around 12:35pm. Fire officials say the cause is not suspicious, but damage could be in excess of $200,000.
