Vendome Hotel Memorial (Boston, MA) 3/14/07

BOSTON, MA – This is a memorial honoring the nine Boston firefighters who lost their lives at the Vendome Hotel Fire in 1972. The Vendome Hotel was located on Commonwealth Avenue at Dartmouth Street. On June 17, 1972, Box 1571 was struck for a fire in the hotel. After the fire had been knocked down, there was a collapse that killed the nine Boston firefighters. This memorial is engraved with their names, as well as a timeline of events that occurred from the time the call came in for the fire.
