Central Ave. Fire (Bridgeport, CT) 12/26/08
BRIDGEPORT, CT – At approximately 5:10pm on December 26, 2008, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched for a house fire at 1569 Central Avenue. First in units found fire showing from the second floor C-side of a 2 ½ story wood frame. The fire in the rear rooms was quickly knocked down, but not before five adults and five children had to be relocated by the American Red Cross. Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze, most probably due to working smoke detectors that alerted the residents.
