Wiebe Ave. Fire (Stratford, CT) 12/28/08

STRATFORD, CT – Shortly after 3:00pm on December 28, 2008, the Stratford Fire Department was dispatched to Wiebe Avenue for a chimney fire in a single-family home. Shortly after arrival, members found heavy fire in the attic and were eventually pulled out for a defensive attack when the fire burned through the roof. The family was home at the time of the fire, but all made it out safely when they saw the smoke. One firefighter was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for a twisted ankle.
