Beechwood Ave. Fire (Bridgeport, CT) 11/30/09

BRIDGEPORT, CT – At 4:07am on November 30, 2009 the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to 550 Beechwood Avenue for a reported house fire. Engine 4 was first on scene reporting a 2 ½ story wood frame with heavy fire through the roof. Battalion 1 arrived shortly thereafter repeating Engine 4’s report and also special called an additional engine and truck due to exposures on both the B and C sides. Firefighting operations were also hampered due to downed wires in the street. The structure turned out to be vacant and there were no reported injuries.
