Diosesan Blue Mass (Westport, CT) 9/13/09

WESTPORT, CT – On September 13, 2009, the Diocese of Bridgeport held it’s annual Blue Mass commemorating the eighth anniversary of 9/11 and was celebrated by the Bishop of Bridgeport, Reverend William E. Lori. This mass honors law enforcement, fire, and emergency personnel who serve in the Diocese of Bridgeport. Every year one member is chosen from police, fire, and EMS to receive an award for outstanding service to their respective fields. This year awards were given to Lieutenant Paul Kochiss of the Bridgeport Fire Department, Officer Robert Somody of the Stamford Police Department, as well as E.M.T.s Alan and April Yoder (a husband and wife team) of the Westport Emergency Medical Services. This mass is co-sponsored by the Fairfield County Councils and Assemblies of the Knights of Columbus.
