Stratford, CT Fire 100th Anniv. Parade (4/25/09)

STRATFORD, CT – On April 25, 2009 the Stratford Fire Department hosted a fire service parade celebrating its 100 year anniversary. The day’s activities started at around 10:00am at Stratford Fire Headquarters where Governor M. Jodi Rell, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, Stratford Mayor James Miron, and Fire Chief James Cavanaugh all gave speeches before kicking off a parade of over 50 emergency vehicles from as far as Ramsey, New Jersey. The parade ran down Main Street from Fire Headquarters to the Avco Plant in Lordship.
