Adams St. Fire (Bridgeport, CT) 11/28/10
BRIDGEPORT, CT – At approximately 1:10pm on November 28, 2010, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to 30 Adams Street for a reported apartment building fire. First companies on scene found a 2 story apartment building with one unit heavily involved. After an aggressive interior attack, the bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down before further units in that wing were destroyed. Three firefighters received minor injuries and one occupant was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The family who resided at the destroyed unit are the mother and family of one of our Bridgeport firefighters. They have lost all of their possessions in that fire and are left with only some personal effects. A collection drive has been started to assist the mother and family in gaining additional funds to purchase clothing, food, toiletries, etc. Any denomination is accepted such as cash, check, gift cards and/or certificates.
