Remington Arms 3rd Alarm (Bridgeport, CT) 8/28/10

BRIDGEPORT, CT – At approximately 10:30am on Saturday August 28, 2010, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Barnum and Helen for smoke from the commercial structure. First in companies found heavy fire on 4 floors of the vacant Remington Arms Factory. This factory has been the scene of numerous fires throughout the years and on this occasion it quickly escalated to a 3rd alarm. Bridgeport received mutual aid from Fairfield, Stratford, and Milford for firehouse coverage during the blaze.

The fire department is no stranger to this cluster of buildings known as Remington Arms due to the fact it battles several fires a year in this complex.
