Seaview Ave. Fire (Bridgeport, CT) 9/18/10
BRIDGEPORT, CT – Shortly before 10:00pm on Sept 18, 2010, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to 914 Seaview Avenue for a vacant house fire. First in units found 2 3-story vacants heavily involved on arrival. Approximately 6 minutes after companies arrived on scene, the original fire building collapsed. The dwellings are located at the end of I-95’s exit 29 which also required the State Police to shut down the highway for a short amount of time due to the heavy volume of smoke. Stratford and Fairfield Fire Departments provided station coverage while Bridgeport operated at the scene with 5 engines, 2 trucks, 1 rescue, 1 battalion, and a deputy.
