Davidsons 2nd Alarm (Bridgeport, CT) 3/25/11
BRIDGEPORT, CT – Shortly before 5:00pm on March 25, 2011, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to a reporting building fire at the corner of Middle Street and Gold Street. Rescue 5 was first on scene reporting smoke from the vacant Davidsons Fabric Warehouse. Upon arrival of Battalion 1, a second alarm was immediately transmitted. Companies were ordered to go defensive attack due to the condition and fire load of the building. The fire had originated in the basement and kept companies working throughout the night due to the deep seated fire in copious amounts of fabrics left behind by the business when it closed back in 2004.
