High Plains Rd. Fire (Shelton, CT) 5/3/13

SHELTON, CT – At approximately 10:20am on May 4, 2013, the Shelton Fire Department was dispatched to 9 High Plains Road for a house fire. First companies on scene found heavy fire from the rear of a 2-story wood frame colonial that had extended into the first and second floors. Companies made and aggressive interior attack but were pulled out due to a water supply problem. All four Shelton Fire Companies operated at the blaze that left the home a total loss. Nobody was home at the time the fire broke out, but unfortunately the family lost their dog to the fire. Shelton received mutual aid from Derby at the scene, as well as station coverage from Monroe, Trumbull, and Ansonia.
