Hillside Ave. Fire (Waterbury, CT) 4/10/14

WATERBURY, CT – At approximately 2:30pm on April 10, 2014, the Waterbury Fire Department was dispatched to 292 Hillside Avenue for a structure fire. First units on scene found heavy fire showing from a 3-story wood frame occupied home. Only one of the residents was home at the time of the fire but quickly escaped out of the back of the house. The fire burnt through the roof, caused the front porches to collapse, and went to a second alarm before being brought under control. Firefighters from Naugatuck and Watertown provided mutual aid as station coverage.
