CT Burn Center Fundraiser (Stratford, CT) 3/19/16

STRATFORD, CT (March 19, 2016) - Bridgeport Firefighters Local 834 held their 5th annual "United for Recovery" gala Saturday night. The $41,000 in proceeds from the March 19th fundraiser at Vazzano's Four Seasons in Stratford, brings to $202,000 the total support provided by the Bridgeport Firefighters in the last five years for the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital. The proceeds will be allocated to support the new S.O.A.R. Program (Survivors Offering Assistance in Recovery), staff education, and to purchase specialized equipment for the Burn Center.
"Bridgeport Firefighters are committed to supporting the Burn Center, and we are honored to play a leadership role in the fundraising campaign", said Fire Captain Salvatore Emanuel, who co-chaired the March event with his wife Melissa, a former Burn Center nurse.
