Ellsworth Ave. Fire (New Haven, CT) 3/3/18

NEW HAVEN, CT - At approximately 6:20pm on March 3, 2018, firefighters at the Ellsworth Station were alerted when neighbors started banging on their doors to report a fire directly across the street from their station. Members found heavy fire in a 2 1/2 story wood frame house at 119 Ellsworth that ended up extending to the attic of the vacant 2 1/2 on the #4 side. Most of the occupants were able to escape from the home at 119 Ellsworth on their own, but one woman needed to be rescued from the 2nd floor. She was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. In all, 6 people were displaced from the fire that appears to be accidental.
