Wilmot Ave. 2nd Alarm (Bridgeport, CT) 7/23/18

BRIDGEPORT, CT - At approximately 5:00pm on July 23, 2018, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to Wilmot Avenue in the City’s East End for a reported house fire. First companies on scene found a large 2 1/2 story wood frame with heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor. A second alarm was called quickly due to the heavily involved 2nd floor and high temps straining firefighters on scene. Soon after, members were evacuated from the structure for a defensive attack. It was reported that a resident had to jump from a second floor window early on in the fire, as well as a firefighter having to be transported to the hospital for heat exhaustion.
