Elizabeth St. 2nd Alarm Fire (New Haven, CT) 1/7/18

NEW HAVEN, CT - Shortly before 10:00am on January 7, 2019, the New Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 27 Elizabeth Street for a reported house fire with multiple calls. First companies on scene found heavy fire on the 2nd floor of the occupied 2 1/2 story wood frame structure. Members encountered a water issue which lead to the fire extending to the attic and companies had to drop back down to the 2nd to allow for a defensive attack on the 3rd. In all, 4 adults, 3 children, and 1 pet made it safely out of the building. One firefighter sustained a minor injury battling the blaze.
