Green Rock 2nd Alarm Fire (Shelton, CT) 4/4/21
SHELTON, CT- Shortly before 11:00am on Easter Sunday April 4, 2021, the Shelton Fire Department was dispatched to 350 Green Rock in Aspetuck Village Condominiums for a reported structure fire. First unites on scene found smoke showing from the front door and eves of the 2 story structure. Early on it was reported that this might be a rescue situation so an aggressive primary search was started simultaneously with suppression operations. Soon it was obvious that 2 people had made it to safety before FD arrival but not before one of the homeowners sustained minor burns to his hand while trying to extinguish the fire. The fire was found to be in the basement originating in a mechanical room, and caused heat and smoke damage to the upper floors via duct work. No firefighters were injured during the fire and mutual aid was dispatched from Derby, Monroe, Nichols, as well as Stratford.
