Maple St. 2nd Alarm Fire (Shelton, CT) 4/1/22
SHELTON, CT - At approximately 7:00pm on April 1, 2022, the Shelton Fire Department received several calls for a building fire in the area of Howe Avenue and Maple Street. First companies on scene transmitted a working fire with heavy fire showing from the rear of a 3-story wood frame multi-family home on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The structure’s correct address was 10 Maple St. All four Shelton fire companies, as well as an engine and truck from Derby, operated at the scene that would escalate to a 2nd alarm. All occupants had been able to evacuate the structure without injury, although one firefighter was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Ansonia, Stratford, and Monroe Fire Departments provided station coverage while the Red Cross was called in to help relocate the occupants.
